Wounded in the left foot and left lung (no further details). Other information indicates he was accidentally wounded at Amfreville on 13 June 1944, evacuated, and rejoined his unit on 15 July. He was later evacuated to hospital for “shell shock” (combat stress reaction).
He was discharged again on 19 March 1945 on the grounds of “physical and mental exhaustion and unable to continue the duties of a commando at the front.”
