Private J. Priez, Service Number 108-FN:42, volunteered for the Commandos. After taking part in the Allied landing on 6 June 1944, he repeatedly demonstrated courage and initiative during the ensuing combat. Always willing to undertake dangerous missions, he was seriously wounded while carrying out an important liaison under intense enemy fire.
This citation includes the awarding of "la croix de Guerre avec étoile d'Argent"
