TREPEL (C.), Artillery Captain: artillery officer, volunteered for the Fusiliers-Marins Commando Battalion; met a glorious death during a secret raid in March 1944 on the Dutch coast. Escaped from France in 1942, volunteered for all dangerous missions, and had already proven himself in delicate operations carried out with skill and success. A spirited soldier, he rendered great service to the homeland.
This citation carries the award of the Knight of the Légion d'Honneur
